FAQs

Who.

Since 1960, JBG has been an active investor, owner and developer in over 40 million square feet of office space, five million square feet of retail space, 15,000 residential units, and 12 hotel properties totaling 3,600 rooms in the Washington Metropolitan area. JBG specializes in transit oriented development, as reflected by the 625,000 square foot Waterview Office Building that is fully leased to Corporate Executive Board in Rosslyn, Virginia, the one million square foot mixed use Arlington Gateway development in Ballston, Virginia, and the 1.3 million square foot Department of Transportation Headquarters in Washington, D.C. All three are within 2 city blocks from Metro stations.

Additionally, JBG has taken the initiative to become the Washington Metro Area leader in sustainable development by becoming a member of the United States Green Building Council and incorporating its green development practices as a standard for its future development. Reston Heights sets the standard as the first LEED Neighborhood Development project in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Certified Silver, and is one of only a few nationwide.

What.

Planned by the world renowned architecture firm Cooper, Robertson and Partners, Reston Heights combines first class, sustainable design and smart growth development principles into Reston’s finest new development. The ultimate goal of the project is to provide a community that focuses on health and well being, as each building will be LEED Certified and active lifestyle amenities will be found throughout the site.

Previously a combination of surface parking lots and low density office space, Reston Heights will now become a bold example of how synergies created from pedestrian friendly, integrated public spaces and dramatically designed water features will provide its clientele with a sustainable, high density mixed-use living experience.

With 2 million square feet of office space, over 350,000 square feet of first class retail, 1.4 million square feet of residential and 500,000 square feet of hotel planned or currently built, Reston Heights will provide thousands of new jobs to the community as well as the housing needed to support and sustain their lifestyles. The site will be accessible by two planned Metro stops within ¼ and ½ of a mile in walking distance to the site, and all parking will be below grade or beneath retail or office pads.

Overall, this project will have a tremendous impact on the sustainable design movement currently underway in Fairfax County and the Washington D.C. metro region and will provide the Reston community with a model of the new urban neighborhood.

Where.

Reston Heights is located between the future Metro stations at Wiehle Avenue and Reston Parkway along the south side of the Dulles Toll Road in Reston, Virginia.
