Reshaping Reston


The Reston Planning and Zoning Committee will be meeting at 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 5, to review the following items:

• JBG Property consisting of 6.57 acres located at the head of Roland Clark Way, abutting the Toll Road. Fairfax County file number 786-SP-011-1. This is a PRC plan which calls for three office buildings to be put on the property plus four smaller buildings which are apparently designed for retail use. A small shopping center of 50,900 square feet is also proposed. There will also e a parking garage of 1,064,312 square feet, seven stories in height, 70 feet maximum. Two existing office buildings on the site will be removed and replaced by the new construction. This presentation is for information purposes only.

• JBG property at 11720 Sunrise Valley Drive; Fairfax County Number 07861-SP-012-1: This consists of 3.45 acres and has an office building already on the property. The proposal is to build two new office buildings. Some retail use is also proposed. This presentation is for information purposes only.

• Reston Spectrum LLP: This property consists of 19.28 acres located on the southwest quadrant of the intersection of Baron Cameron Avenue and Reston Parkway. It is zoned PRC. The property for planning purposes is split into two parts. The northern part is that part north of Bowman Town Drive to New Dominion Parkway. The proposed new usage is as follows: Two office buildings, each 10 stories high, fronting on New Dominion Parkway, containing 210,281 square feet. In this same southern quadrant will be two residential buildings containing 562 dwelling units. The northern quadrant proposes to have three residential buildings containing 881 residential units. An ffice building is also proposed with 245,680 square feet of office use. The residential buildings will include some retail usage on their ground floors. This will be a concept plan presentation.
