John Schlichting, a Managing Partner of The JBG companies, presented the donation to Susan Huebsch, Pack Committee Chair, and Christopher P. Noyes, Unit Commissioner, during the September 21, 2008 Concert on the Square event. “Almost a third of our scouts need financial help in some way. Since Pack 340 started, we have always welcomed new scouts regardless of their ability to pay dues. The JBG Companies’ contribution will help to ensure that we can maintain that policy. Every boy deserves to be a scout, and they should have the chance to join. Scouting helps boys become motivated and responsible young men.” - Dennis Hodges, Pack Master The donation will be used to pay registration fees, purchase uniforms, pay camping fees, and ensure attendance at summer camps for scouts’ families in need of financial assistance.
